The problem stems from Outlook on Mac using Outlook Anywhere. The solution is to increase the EWS limits manually Open IIS from admin tools Navigate into SBS 2008: Sites / SBS Web Applications / EWS SBS 2011 or other: Sites / Default Web Site / EWS Right click on EWS and click Explore Make a copy of the file web.config and open the existing one in notepad. Outlook Anywhere reflects wrong internal server name

Posted by on Jan 6, 2015 in Microsoft Exchange | 0 comments

On the server, run Exchange Shell as admin. Type get-mailboxdatabase | fl name,RPC* to see a list of the existing “RpcClientAccessServer” properties, which is the setting that is wrong. Type set-mailboxdatabase “databaseName” -rpcclientaccessserver “correctaddress” to update the setting to the correct one. (My command was set-mailboxdatabase “C-Net Systems” -rpcclientaccessserver “cnetexchange2.cnetsys.local”) Not sure if necessary, but I restarted all the exchange services and...

Out of Office Assistant not launching because the server is unavailable outside of the network

Posted by on Jan 6, 2015 in Microsoft Exchange | 0 comments

If you go to launch the Out of Office Assistant and you get a one line error message saying that the server is unavailable, check www.mxtoolbox.com and make sure autodiscover.domain.com is pointing correctly. If not, locate where domain.com resides and edit the DNS zone and add a cname pointing autodiscover.domain.com to remote.domain.com or mail.domain.com, whichever it should be. Once you do that, ping autodiscover.domain.com to make sure it’s pointing to the same IP address as remote.domain.com or mail.domain.com. If it is,...

Limit RAM usage in Microsoft Exchange

Posted by on Jan 6, 2015 in Microsoft Exchange | 0 comments

This should only be used when ram usage is unexplainably high. In my case it was using 8gb and causing the server to hit 95% or more ram usage at all times. By default, exchange will eat up ram to make itself run smoother and give up ram as needed to other programs but it doesn’t always work that way. This will require restart of the exchange info store service when done so it should be done after hours. Start -> ADSIedit.msc, or navigate to Start -> All Programs -> Administrative Tools -> ADSI Edit. Right click the root...

Libra Error: “The problem appears to be coming from the read of the user’s specific program defaults file”

Posted by on Jan 6, 2015 in Libra | 0 comments

The Error above can be fixed by changing the .PD files and having the user access Libra once it’s been changed. First you need to type “help” which will show what file in the database it is having an issue with. Then go to the APD directory where that database file is stored. In that directory there will be a file named [USERNAME].PD file and one named [USERNAME].PD@. Rename these files to TEMP.PD and TEMP.PD@ (we’re keeping them just in case there is something important about them). Then have the user go back in. ...
